Life after 6K

July 23, 2023

I posted my Dell U3224KB (to my surprise, I have now memorized that string of characters. I am not sure how I feel about this) text yesterday, but over a month has passed since I actually sent the monitor back to Dell.

I still miss the screen space. I am trying to arrange my windows a bit more freely and flexibly, but I rarely feel that they have that room to breathe. To perhaps even make some windows a bit larger than they need to be, just for the luxury of it. But the thoughts are still there, so the effect seems to be lasting: more space has made me place windows in different ways.

27-inch monitors also still seem … not small, but never large. They have been downgraded from the great option to just the sane default. I guess it is very good that the sharpness and density are the same, otherwise I would have completely runied myself and felt I was staring at grubby gravel through a small window every day.

I am carefully avoiding thinking about what I would choose if I had to buy a new primary monitor today.

That little click of the camera shutter was also nice …
