Last day of the month, and a date that doesn't appear all that often. Feels like a good time for a diary entry ...

I have felt on and off during the past few days that there are things I could write down here. I think they've been quite varied once they do show up as well. When things do solidify, though, they often seem to boil down to functional programming. I keep reading my Erlang book, and I just came across the freely downloadable book Practical common Lisp which I've started on.

My programming world is widening, it seems, mostly by travelling backwards in time.

The real world is moving too, of course. There are a few things on my mind starting to nag me enough that I've put them into tasks on my phone, which usually works well for me to get them done and out of mind. Most of them are quite small in time requirements too, so they were rapidly approaching the point where I would have spent more time feeling nagged by them than it will take to just do them.

A bigger ting sailing up again is the possibility of buying our apartment. But that doesn't make it onto my lists yet because there really isn't anything to think about before getting more information during the first half of next week. Focusing on things I can do something about is usually more than enough for me, thank you.

After a good run on Monday I started the week feeling pretty slim and in shape. THen there was a turkish evening buffet, big lunches and a Wednesday evening with beers and burgers (oh, and half a Ben & Jerry's in the afternoon). So by Thursday I felt like I had effectively taken back lost calories for a long time, and built up a store for the future too.

Case in point: after running yesterday I already feel like I'm back on track again.

Almost, anyway.

Weekend plans include socialising with friends, washing, checking off as many of those tasks as possible and perhaps getting a few things off other people's mental lists too.

Now I've grabbed a much too large cup of coffee, time to see what I can do with this February 29th!
