RSS-troubles

The RSS has been broken for me before when some "naughty characters" like åäö was in the RSS title. Hasn't been a problem lately, Thunderbird doesn't seem to care.

Surprising content

This site surprised me today by suddenly showing ten new entries in NewsFire ... That's two weeks worth of postings, completely unread by me.

I have no idea why, but there might have been something in the post made eleven posts ago that made the XML-file invalid, and that it was finally pushed of today?

The danger of using and relying too much on RSS to tell you things, instead of just regularly visiting the sites, is that if a stream is broken, I miss things out. And the software doesn't tell me. Unless I read the logs of course.

Anyway, it was nice reading about it all. And congratulations on getting the iPod Touch ...

I have been somewhat in the same trails lately, but I always opted for the version with the phone in ... that iPhone thing. I have been this close to actually buying it on several occasions, and if you could see me, you'd see that I was holding my my thumb and index finger at mere millimiters from each other, actually bidding on quite a few on ebay too ... all of them I ended up loosing by 10 dollars, because I apparently do listen to the voice of reason every now and then.

I do want the phone ... but at the same time ... how can I possibly get by on only 16GB of storage? And no high speed data when I am outside? And I do have a perfectly smart phone already ... or so they tell me.

Ah, well ... one day.

Apple, just get the 32GB iPhone with UMTS and HSDPA out and I will buy. I will not be able to refuse ... how can I ...

So this is what bjoreman.com looks like in Safari touch. Not too bad, except for the lower blue bar being stuck at the bottom of the first page's worth of content. Bet I can fix that somehow ... later ...

Ja, listor med snabbetyg vore verkligen fint! Det lär ju vara fler än bara vi som ska lägga in en massa filmer på en gång.

It's been a pretty good one here, but then it's really too atypical to fit into normal Tuesday measurements.

Then again, I did write Wednesday in the last-but-one paragraph without noticing the error for a long while ...

Problemen är nu lösta...

... nu har jag hittat felen på min websida. Allt är åtgärdat och det borde gå att posta precis som vanligt nu. :)

Och ja, jag är i Växjö så mycket jag bara kan. :) Och söker jobb gör jag som aldrig förr... praktikplatser också. Det går lite trögt men skam den som ger sig. :) Testa att skriva lite du också på sidan nu när jag fått allt att fungera. Inget fel låg i javascriptet utan i en postback-hänvisning i källkoden till såväl pladdersidan som blogkommentarerna... men nu fungerar allt tillfredsställande.

Vi håller tummarna för att resten av felet snart blir löst det också.

När vi inte skriver saker med dem.

Eller gör något annat som vore slitsamt med upptagna tummar.

Felet med xhtml och IE...

... en del av felet är åtgärdat. Anledningen till att IE helst ville "ladda ned" xml-filen beror på att Microsoft inte velat lägga in stödet för MIME-formatet "application/xhtml+xml" bland accepterade MIME-headers i IE. Resultatet blir en ogenererbar sida. Nu har jag försökt att lösa detta, vilket visserligen inte fungerar särskilt väl vid valideringen, men resultatet blir i alla fall att även IE klarar av att visa sidan, eftersom den tolkar MIME-headern som "text/html".

Vad gäller postningen så ligger med största sannolikhet felet i det javascript som bevakar postningen av formulären. Tyvärr har jag inte haft tid, eller har inte ens mycket tid att titta på det för närvarande, men jag klurar på problemet och söker med ljus och lykta efter en enkel och stabil lösning till det hela. :)

Beeb beep beep

Problemet är ju rätt mycket att man faktiskt inte får se speciellt mycket med egna ögon, det blir bara ingenting postat och texten man fyllt i står kvar i textrutorna. Jag vill minnas att det fladdrade förbi ett felmeddelande eller två i Firebug, så om postningen är helt beroende av javascript kanske det finns något informativt att hämta i loggen.
